About us
Helping Hands was created to support families in finding balance while raising a child with special needs. We are a locally owned and operated company that is invested in being a part of the Athens Area Community. We believe therapy should be collaborative, comfortable, and effective—which is why we bring high-quality ABA services directly into the home. By meeting children where they feel most secure, surrounded by their favorite people and things, we help them learn and grow in ways that naturally generalize across environments.
In-home therapy also allows our team to adjust environmental factors so daily life flows more smoothly. From using visuals around the home to restructuring a morning routine, we tailor strategies that reduce challenges and create lasting improvements in families.
We also understand the trust it takes to place your child in someone else’s care. Unlike traditional models where parents drop their children off at a therapy center, Helping Hands ensures that parents remain present and engaged throughout the process. With our approach, families can feel confident knowing that they are part of every step—and that their child is learning in a safe, supportive environment designed to help them thrive.

Supporting spanish-speaking families
At Helping Hands, we believe every family deserves to feel supported and understood. To ensure accessibility and comfort for Spanish-speaking families, we provide:
Bilingual therapists
Many of our therapists are fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing children and families to communicate naturally during sessions.
Translated documents
All intake forms, policies, and therapy-related documents are available in Spanish, so families can feel confident in understanding each step of the process.
Family meetings with translation
During team meetings and parent training, a translator is present in person or via phone to ensure clear communication and collaboration.
By breaking down language barriers, Helping Hands ensures that families feel empowered, informed, and fully included in their child’s therapy journey.
